I recently downloaded patch 1.0.12. I didn't install the patch immediately, since i wanted to finish the campaign i had been flying for over a month. When i finally finished the campaign, i decided to update the game with the new patch. In the middle of the patching process, i got a "NO FILES FOUND" error and the patch stopped installing. My question is this:

1) I Never downloaded patch 1.0.11 because of all of the reported bugs. Do i need to download that patch before i can update to 1.0.12? I am currently still on the 1.0.10 patch.

Thanks for your help!

Well to answer your question, I believe downloading 1.0.12 exe should patch regardless of what patch you have installed. I may be wrong

If you also have un-official addon's like skins, 3d pit, ODSAF etc it could create problems during the patching process.

Depends which 1.0.12 patch you downloaded. The small file is to patch from 1.0.11 to 1.0.12
The larger file will patch from any version from 1.08 on.

Like Panther said though, if you have any mods installed, you will need to remove them first

No need to deinstall HiTiles if you patch from 1.0.11 to 1.0.12.

I don't have any mods added to the game. I also got the .exe download of patch 1.0.12. Should i download the patch again(maybe a corrupt file or compromised download) or should i try the zip download instead of the .exe Has anyone els encountered this "NO FILES FOUND" error?

Patches are either cumulative or delta. The cumulative one brings you up from a base install, or possibly from 1.0.08 or something to current. I haven't tried it from 1.0.08 or some other "starting point" other than a base install. The delta patches are just what they are, though, 1.0.11 to 1.0.12, etc.

I always step through the delta patches one by one, or apply the cumulative patch to a base install. I've never tried anything else, but I've never had a problem with my patch procedure.

I tried it from the Zip file. got 65% through the unzip and got a meassage about old file not found but file of same name. Then it bombed out. When firing up AF the Updater kicked in did its stuff and said successful update.

So try it and see (I was going from 1.08)
