McCudden flew DH 2's with 29 Squadron late '16 early '17. His description's of flying and fighting the DH are very good. You'll find them in his book "Flying Fury".
I'm in the throes of flying a campaign with him in 29Sq at present, using WFP2. Started in October '16, it's now December. Have gained two victories so far, but it's very tough. The DH 2 lacks speed, so if you are caught in a tight spot things get very iffy! And the Albatross D.II and Halberstadt's can make things interesting.
I like Greybeards FM in WFP, but the DH does exhibit two unusual characteristics that I don't believe are truly historical.
One is dive. Push the stick forward and the DH will only dive at around 20-30 degrees. Nose won't drop any further. Either cut the power (which kind of defeats the prupose) or perform a split S to get out of trouble. The other oddity is rudder. Apply judiciously, otherwise it will throw you over onto back and you'll do a couple of spins before you know what happened.
