I still fly FalconAF as my only version of Falcon.
With the proliferation of user modified Falcon4 versions on the rise by advocates, places to fly FalconAF only is being challenged with eyecandy and features F4AF missed.
Regarding Frugs, I prefer keeping porn free atmosphere in my home. Ive turned off those sigs too as my kids come and go where I use my PCs.
SimHQ has chosen the high road, IMHO.

I prefer the "Clean" look here at Sim HQ. My bandwidth isn't zapped up by pics and signature pics. I do appreciate signatures done tastefully. Dial up is slow as it is. I wish there was more traffic here. Can someone explain how I can turn off signature pics in browser? It's embarrassing to have my wife walk in the room as I am reading about flying and all she sees is a set of titties or legs in the postings. Thinks I am into some kind of weird flying porn thing, but I just want info on planes. This is what I do: - Get an account on Frugalsworld - Login - Choose "User CP", then "Edit Options" - Scroll down to the "Thread Display Options". The first group box is called "Visible Post Elements", there just uncheck the "Show Signatures" and "Show Avatars" options. - Scroll to the bottom of the page, click "Save changes" That's it :-) (In additon, I sugest using the "Ignore" feature to ignore the posts of some users...)

Well, I drift in and out of FalconAF mostly because it's hard to get time. But, I have a new incentive. I have recently bought a pile of new flight sim hardware with FalconAF in mind so that should make operating the systems easier and perhaps allow me to devote more time to actualy learning how to fly it as opposed to which key combination will work. I have also found tons of great training material for FalconAF which I think will help me understand much better. To be honest, I think the manual is aweful. The material that I've found at Freebirds and the 72nd have been excellent and I think have greatly expanded my knowledge.
My girlfriend and I have recently moved in together so I bought a pile of equipment just prior to the move (that way there is less explaining to after we move). I'm looking forward to getting into Falcon once I get everything set up (still living out of boxes currently).
I do wish there could be a massive graphics update a'la RV. I liked Lomac because of the stunning graphics. Wish that AF could be punched up quite a bit.

Somwhat with the Dr. stops pit fix. For f4af itself, its time LP did some serious work. Everyone laughs at Lockon but I fly both and in the last year it has become a real contender to F4af. If they ever do a 3D Pit for the U.S. planes then F4af is in real trouble. LP is sitting back and I don't know why. Next project maybe but not much being said about it. Ed is letting some modding take place and it is really improving the game. If it ever gets to Flight Management lookout F4af. Don't get me wrong I love F4af, you asked a question and I am giving my honest opinion. LP has to get a move on.Cheers

I'm having more fun with RV.

Not switchable like F4af. I know F4af is finished but what is coming next. Any news?At least they can fix what they broke in the last patch.I agree they said the patches would end 2 - 3 patches ago but yet they are still patching. Does this mean that there is very little on the board for them as a new project like Falcon 5 or whatever. Not much info. F4af does not have a 3d pit 2d swithable. Don't get me wrong I am a Falcon fan. All I am saying is if ED can let out tools for modders including building new and update 3d functional models and LP is finished with F4Af why can't they do the same. Yes I know you can get some skins, etc but LP frowns on this. Look what happened to OF I wich I had the original, just look at what is being done with RV, yes it is still unstable for MP but a lot of people don't play MP. Anyway I hope we soon see something new from LP. Cheers.

The fact that they're still patching as far as I'm concerned shows their great support for the title. However you do have a point that nothing has been revealed about a future title, and I think about this myself very often. I guess/hope it's just still too early in development for them to release any info. I sure hope your right. Falcon 5 with dx9, I don't want Vista for gaming just yet. Too many bugs. I suppose they could make it backwards compatible though. I am like you, I wish they would say something, hell anything to keep us interested in LP. Lockon is close to F4af and with BS about to be released, yea a helo game but man what an addon. I could see a few jet jocks jump to it. I would rather fly the jets but BS will raise some eye brows. Not much upcoming in Combat Sims., to bad.Cheers.

Not really, as far as I know LP considers F4 finished, they're not gonna add anything else. Even the patching should have supposedly stopped 2-3 patches earlier. New sim or not LP has said numerous times that they're finished with F4... Last peep I heard from C3PO and others was that patches would continue for AF in as much as the material was also being used in their "next" sim. I doubt the night-lighting is an example of this (lets hope not!), but the organic manpads in the SAM units might be. I alway read their patch logs and try to think what is it that's there because the next sim is going to use it. So my understanding is that work on a new sim is being done, but some of the material is compatible with AF and makes it into a periodic patch. I'd try BlackShark - I liked Longbow Gold/2. But flying a chopper, both the flight and the combat tactics, is much different than a jet. I honestly wouldn't want to be a chopper pilot in this day and age, with the SAM and AAA technology out there. The best chopper pilot is not a pilot at all, but a tanker. And it's my opinion that choppers need to be used like "really mobile" tanks. Not to jack a thread, though.
