I have now setup a PayPal donation thing on my LB2 site. I don't know if I have set it up right, though. It seems OK from my end.

So, could someone (who is also a PayPal member) send me a small donation so that I can see if all the links work OK.

If it does all work, I'd appreciate a donation every now-and-then.

Thanks,
Fly

As Ronald Reagan would say... "there you go again"

Fly, to even say this in jest: (yes we see the many smiley faces = humor)
"Make me rich!"

and to tie that statement to your LB2 site which is built largely off others works;
sets yourself up as a profiteer on the back of others contributions.

Surely youre only trying to recoup some hosting costs, and I doubt it will be much even over time.
But still, you might want to rethink mixing humor and finances (same with politics and religion).

I know you mean well, just tread abit more lightly. Isnt your Yahoo site free? Just curious.
Thats my Paypal contribution. ;\)

AV8R, you are too damn goody-goody. Yeah, the Yahoo! site is free... but what about all the work I've put into it? I've seen many sites in my time that accept donations and they are in exactly the same position. Besides, where the internet is concerned, nearly everything is copied one way or another. Who knows where the ORIGINAL of anything came from? ;\)

P.S. I've edited my first post to reflect your views.

Maybe try going the Google web ad route instead. Say put some Google ads on a side bar, no worse than that annoying ActiveX Yahoo control.

You can also get cheap web hosting for <$5 month now, so that's another option. Magnum and I have had good luck with 1and1.com (Up to 5 FREE domains included). So skip your coffees for a week and it's paid for.

I believe he was referring to the part where you are asking us for money by "testing the link".
One thing is adding a donation link and ads, but asking for money straight out is a whole different story. Atleast in my eyes. No offence, but everyone wants more money \:\)

I'm not asking 'us' for money, just ONE person to send like, even one pence - just so I know if the link is valid or not.

And I'm not referring to SimHQ'ers, but people who have found and use my site that aren't familiar with forums and all the hoo-hah that goes with it (see above posts) ;\)
