Its better to buy from esim than from the big businesses like boobisoft and ea crap. I've had an excellent support experience from Ssnake and Alexander than from any other software company. Thumbs up to Ssnake, and his team.

G'day I'm about to buy SP pro PE but what I need to know is

if I order a copy on the 19 April will I have to upgrade the dongle firmware?

How long does a dongle last, cd's and dvd's last quite a while 5yrs + how lond is the dongle guaranteed for?

it's gotta beat starforce

in my opinion it is much better than starforce (i think most here will agree) and it is much more flexible...i.e. able to act as a server for multiple licenses. it is truly a professional grade software. BTW, so is Steel Beasts Pro PE. ;\)

Nils/Al,
you are welcome!!! \:D hehehe.

Cheers Steel

can I have a copy of the software on my laptop and one on my desktop and move the dongle from one to the other (using only one copy at a time)?

Will I still have to upgrade the firmware on the dongle?

thanks

  1. Yes, you can install the software on several machines, and carry around the CodeMeter USB stick.
  2. Yes, you are allowed to make backup copies of the installation media.
  3. No, there's no copy prevention scheme nor the need to have the CD inserted in your drive all the time.
  4. Whether or not a firmware upgrade is necessary depends on the recent deliveries from Wibu Systems. They may still be of version 1.08 - which works, let there be no doubt. It's just that a particular type of failure may result more often with firmware versions prior to 1.10, and that with 1.10 the stick is more tolerant about the voltage and power consumption over the USB conection, so overall it adds a lot of improvements.
The upgrade process is fairly straightforward, less than five clicks.

Cheers Ssnake

My copy just arrived unexpectedly (a very quick delivery time to Australia) a pleasant surprise. I'll try to set it up tomorrow which is coincidently ANZAC day here in Australia (a very important national military rememberance day).

Looking forward to running it.
