I am ready to start my first campaign in EECH. The only problem is there are many to choose from. Is there a particular campaign that is best for someone new like myself? I figured that 1 or 2 of the campaigns would be considered the "core" campaign. Lastly, about how many missions are in each campaign? Thanks.

Since all campaigns are dynamic, it depends on the progress you and your allies make.

I prefer Taiwan. It has sea, flat terrain and mountains. Also the action is split (west and east coast), which could make it more interesting.

Maybe this is interesting stuff to read?

And of course this.

Don't forget to call artillery!

I can only give some advice regarding flying on the Blue side. The stock camp. can be sroetd by difficulty and many (but not all) pilots sort them like this (easy -> hard)
Sword in the sand
War of Independence
Task Force Lebanon

The Camp's from Apache-Havoc aren't easy to sort when playning them in eech and I haven't flown the community camp's that much to sort them in the list

OK, I guess I will start with Sword in the Sand. I do have another question regarding landing. Back several years ago when I played Longbow 2, landing at the FARPS was fairly easy...just find a big open area. However in EECH, there are times when you need to land on a heli-pad or on a carrier. Even though I have TrackIR, I still have a hard problem in seeing where I am going to land. Does anyone have a suggestion for how to approach the landing site so that you can see where you are landing? Landing on a particular spot is the hardest part of the sim to me.

Or 'padlock waypoint' to find your specific pad,
(making sure you are padlocking the LAST waypoint..)then switch between outside views to land.

Use a predefined approach route. Get familiar with it. Than it will get a lot easier to land at a predetermined spot. They use it in real life. The view you have isn't much different to those in real chopper. They have a predefined approach route for a reason.

My method is similar to Decca's and Kassie's.

- As soon as you receive "cleared to land" from ATC, pop up to aprox. 100' (high enough to survey the landing area) and hover at the perimeter of FARP.
- Wait for your wingmen to land. (And get out of your way!!!)
- Padlock your final waypoint, so you know what pad to use. (Afterwards, I switch back to my normal view but I suppose you could leave the padlock on all of the way down.) I've had helos that were returning right after me, land on top of me while I was powering down, when I just landed at the nearest pad....Ouch!
- Figure out your approach heading and make a standard A/C style "boxed" approach....turning and descending. While doing this, take note of your "landmarks" (Nearby helos, tents, the power cart, etc.) that you will use to guide off of, when you touchdown.
- Pull into a hover above your pad.
- Check your landmarks and adjust to center up on them. When you think you're all lined up you can switch to the bob-up overlay to monitor your drift, too.
- make a slow (and realistically blind!) descent on to your pad.
- Have a beer! (This step is optional.)
