Conroe looks more impressive all the time... Check out the benchmarks at the link... What's really interesting is their headroom for OCing... Up to 4GHz without too effort... And the pricing is amazing... http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/showdoc.aspx?i=2771 Never thought I'd be lured away from AMD, but...

If your looking to upgrade for BOB you might as well wait till it's out, prices for today's hardware will be less by the time we can get the new flightsim. I'll admit I'm tempted to upgrade as well, I'm still using a p4 2.8, would love to get one of the fast amd64 chips with a couple gigs of ram, pci express video card, etc etc. But I know patience will pay off! Actually, I try to hold off upgrading till at least 1 year AFTER my favorite flight sim is released...

I will have to wait and see - I refuse to throw money at BoB right away when my current rig can run Fb/Pf just fine.
What if there are probs with BoB? What if it is optimized for Win.Vista and lags in 32bit?..or has other unforseen glitches.
Even though my faith in Oleg and crew is substantial, there might be some tics that will take time to correct.
Besides - 1c Maddox always designs their software for long run use...so no one will be able to get the very best out of BoB for a while after release so a few frame rates, one way or the other isn't worth a completly new rig....at least, not to me.
It will be hard - but I guess I'll force myself to wait as long as I can before building a BoB rig.
