I've installed all of the new patches, including the one that is supposed to fix the problem in which the sim switches your screen resolution back to 60HZ. It throws my screen res back to 1024x728, also. Mine is still doing that when I exit.

This issue has been fixed for me since patch v.035 (thankfully). If you have an ATI card there is a refresh rate overide in your setting in the CCC.

CCC is short for Catalyst Control Centre

This is ATI's newest interface to change your graphics card settings. It can be found by a number of ways including right clicking anywhere on your desktop.

Older driver sets included CCC as an option. 5.13 (I think) is the first version to include it without the option of not installing it. You also needs to have Mocrosoft's NET Framwork and service pack 2 installed before you use these drivers.

I have a 9800pro with cat3.9 (so without the CCC) and the refresh rate problem has been fixed for me.
Maybe a good thing would be to see what happens with the drivers control panel.

Some small issues with 3Dsmax, and that's the only game I have besides OFF ;\)

My son gets CTD in Brothers in Arms with 3.9 So I have 5.13 installed.
