Take it from one who had extreme doubts for a long time. It's worth the $15 bucks.
I went for the download version and have been fine so far with Starfarce. Glad to see it's on its way out though.

Only slightly annoying about the CD check once every week, but its better than keeping the CD in at all times.

Have Loack on - upgarded with the CD version of flaming cliffs and then the patch to get FC to 1.12a - absolutely no trouble here at all. I also have silient hunter 3 installed. Noy one bit of trouble there too. I'm starting to get into FC. The graphics are awesome on it. Between FC and JF-18 my computer time it taken up lol.

There are different kinds of SF. FC uses a disc-only check for the CD. It doesn't use the "code tied to a particular disc" version like Splinter Cell 3 does. I've had issues with that version, but never with the one FC uses.
As for BS, ED hasn't yet decided what to do according to them.

How do you get the once a week disc check? My copy (patched to 1.12a) still checks every time.

I dunno. Mine hasn't asked for the CD since I've taken it out as ruggbutt said. vertical

So you start it with the CD and then take the CD out and then after that it only asks for it once a week? Ok I didn't try to do that. I'd always just tried to start it without the CD and then when it didn't work put the CD in and fly and when finished and LOMAC was shutdown I'd take the disk out to do something else (heresy hehe) Cheers, Stonehouse
