Very nice idea. But the 310th cockpit reference link doesn't work for me. You can add this excellent site instead, though. http://free-st.hinet.hr/dvd/ ammo and cockpit reference for ALL planes. Incredible! Cyrille

NewView completely revitalized this game for me. I never liked the default view system left, which I felt detracted from the game to the point where I just about gave up on it.
NewView works like a champ and shows off the game to its full advantage.

Such catchy lyrics, the way that they're repeated after the long instrumental parts ensures that the listener doesn't easily forget them . Aces (Audiophile Review 14th June 2004) Meanwhile here a picture of "Uncle Boogers' Bumper Dumper" :

Hi, I haven't yet had the time to check all the links out, so I need some help or advice. The manual is disgrace; practically nothing's in there. I need info on complex engine management, and other things that make a sim: how and when apply the different mixture, prop. pitch, crowl flaps settings, how to use the bombsights, and so on, and so on. (So far I found here the webpage for the cockpit layouts... One thing's off the list.)

A nice utility that grew on me is TSDisp: http://sourceforge.net/projects/tsdisp It's currently at version 1.10 and it's a must for those that use TeamSpeak heavily. It displays in a little window in the game (very inobtrusive) who's currently speaking in the TS channel you're in.

I'm surprised Ron Hunt's SaitekHelp site isn't in the list. It hasn't been updated in a while, so you also need one to Dhauzimmer's download site, which has the latest version of his X36/X45 drivers (which were the only ones that worked with my brand new X45). SaitekHelp is http://saitekhelp.simhq.com/ I won't put Dhauzimmer's link here, in case it requires his consent. It's in the readme file of any driver version. BA_Dart is being modest: his skip-bombing tutorials are excellent, with a presentation style that definitely has character

Sorry, Bearcat, apparently all former issues with X45s have been resolved with newer Saitek software. I wasn't aware of this when I posted, so probably not much need for SaitekHelp anyway

A new utility for managing joystick sensitivity settings: IL2 Sticks This is particularly useful for those who use different sensitivity settings for different aircraft, those who are sharing the computer among pilots who like different settings, or for setting up second and further controllers.

Bearcat,
Would it be possible to add the links in my signature to your list? The first is my personal website, and the second is my forum, which has a dedicated sim-related area as well as Star Wars and other stuff.

Hello Bearcat Nice idea! Do you mind adding one more site to that list? "IL2 Air Racing" Links: IL2 Air Racing Forum IL2 Air Racing Official Website Air Racing has been with the community since the first IL2 and is the only organization willing to host a racing server today. You can find the server in Hyperlobby (Air__Racing). It features "Reno" style pylon racing and sometimes cross country navigation races. Air Racing is a lot of fun and all are welcome to join the league. It is a great way to escape the fighting for awhile, show off racing skins, and be the fastest pilot in IL2. More information can be found here: http://www.il2airracing.nu/modules/newbb/ http://simairracing.com/ Good luck! And remember, no shooting.

I used to have a pdf that had information and history about all of the planes in the IL2 games. Where can I find this? It had pictures of every aircraft.

Thanks you very much !
I found two bugs even with the 16 august version : - Under vista there is an error message with stdole2.tlb when installing but I clicked ignore and it seems to be fine. - The Slovakia map could not be loaded. I check in the maps directory and the slovakia map is not in there.
Dup Thanks I'll look into it. CS.

Well Dup, you are absolutely right. The Slovakia map set seems to have been left out of the installation exe. The Slovakia map will still be coded in the MM exe so if you have the Slovakia map set from a earlier installation, you should be able to use those, just drop them into the maps folder. I'll redo the installation set tonight when I get home from work. Cheers, CS.

Updated version including the Slovakia map set now available at M4T. (It should have the Vista install problem sorted also I hope). Thanks dup, without these reports, some bugs are never realised. CS.

Hey Crazy Schmidt !
Thank you for your effort ! MissionMate was always a great tool and really is one of the best tools for Il-2
Anyway, my personal opinion is, that it's not a good idea to integrate mod-maps and planes.
In the official 4.08m version there are 51 different maps.
Some of them come in different versions as season differ or when theres a online version with less object.
But as I see in Mission Mate v3.5.2 there is only integrated half of the official maps and now you start integrating modmaps I've never heard of.
Why didn't you integrate alle the mission which for sure can be interesting for offline players like Balaton, Kurland, Kursk, Online5, Northwest-Europe, Lvov and thse maps? I would like to have them in first, before any modmap.
My view.
Greetings and thank you anyway for your work on the tool !
Airway Hi FI:Airway, thanks for posting, your opinions are most welcome. Mission Mate is now and always has been a project based very much around my own personal taste with IL-2, any IL-2 community suggestions that I have included over the years are as a courtesy and are the ones that I myself think are good ideas. I have never had the intention of including all of the stock maps from IL-2 and with the maps I have included I have tried as much as possible to provide variety. Of course I am aware it is always possible that I may have left out some MM users favourites in the process. I and many other MM users attention has now moved strongly towards the mods and this is I feel because, that this is where the hope for further variety and expansion with the IL-2 series resides. MM+ does give the option for separating the map lists if desired so it is clear which maps are for the mods alone. At the end of the day, MM +Plus is designed primarily for the mods and beyond. If a user has a preference not to use the mods then they may stay with either of the releases for the stock IL-2 series. Remember though, MM+ is still functional with the stock versions of IL-2, so any future MM developments outside of new maps and aircraft, may still benefit stock IL-2 users. I have thought about supporting multiple versions of MM, but I am just one guy coding with what spare time I may have in my evenings, so it simply is not practical for me to split the project into concurrent versions. I hope that helps explain some reasoning behind why MM has been developed the way it has over the years and why it is taking the direction it is now. Best regards, CrazySchmidt.

Hello CrazySchmidt ! Thank you for your reply.
Gives me a better view in your decision about MM now and I respect that.
Right now at this time I still feel not very good about the mods at all and thats a reason I was sad, MM moved that direction.
But ok, you're right MM ist usable even without the mods installed and so I might handle it. I only think it may confuse user who are not familiar with the mods or so.
But no doubt: MissionMate is a great tool - thanks for making it available for us all !
I personally prefer MM to the QMB+ in the mods.... more options....

There's nothing in the search results, so here's an invaluable resource for any flight sim.

"Stick and Rudder" by Wolfgang Langewiesche.
This is an amazingly informative book on the mechanics of flight. There's nothing in here on combat flying, but you need to master the basics before you can master combat flying. I've picked up a used copy, it really has helped my flying. A co-worker studying for his pilot's license had a copy too.

Relatively.. unfortunately I can't edit the page @ UBI because the thread is closed. I can update the Nugget's Guide but not the Essentials thread.
