Hum, where that come from... From the advertisement they were forced to remove from the air a few years ago since it was a complete lie... Since they were faster, this probably explain why they are now using Intel CPU...

Oh, I suppose about £500-700 ($1000-1400) for a games machine.

There are many things wrong with that system.
1. 4GB RAM is a waste of money. You need a max of 2GB. For Allied Force 1GB is all you need.

2. X1300 Video card. This is an ultra-budget card that should never be installed in a gaming system.

Joe, did you read my post?

I am still learning, please be patient. I am just trying to help!

PS why is the video card bad, especially since Alled Force don't need that much graphics like SH3 or LOMAC?

I fly the old version of Falcon 4.0 on my Mac but for LPAF I have a PC. I really doubt that a PC emulator could handle LPAF. Find a cheep (inexpensive) PC that has at least the min requirments. Or go all out and make a machine to be envied!!!

I take it you're talking about the old version of Falcon 4 designed to run on the Mac, right? You're not talking about running Falcon 4.0 (any of the older variants) on a PC emulator, right? The reason I ask is because I doubt there'd be much difference in running, say, Falcon 4.0 v1.08 and F4AF on a PC emulator for the Mac. Only the native Mac version of Falcon 4.0 should run well on Macs. I'm not clarifying for your sake, but for the sake of others who might not be aware that there actually was a Mac version of Falcon 4.0.

Yes I run native Mac Falcon 4.0 on a Mac and that is the Mac version Falcon 4.0 1.06c and not PC Falcon 4.0 with a PC card or emulation which wouldn't have the power to run Falcon 4.0 or LPAF for that matter.

Actually I did not know that. Thanks. I am going to get a PC though as a games machine.

I know I'm going to do it so I might as well admit it!

Yeah... I was worried you might get the wrong impression. Luckily Guns99 was kind enough to clarify. Too bad Falcon 4 couldn't be developed on both PC and Mac platforms concurently. Too much work in the end I guess.
