Aside from the F4AF manual, what other documents do you guys recommend to read up on for greater appreciation of this sim?

I've dug up a tacRef manual (for Falcon4 SuperPAK4) and not being familiar with the weapons, this is of great help for me. I've also downloaded the training manuals (from the Falcon4HQ site) and looks nice.

Also, anybody know of a hi-res map of Korea/Balkans that would make a nice kneeboard map?

Thanks!

I have 100 MB+ of F4AF documents but I can't remember where I download these. Might need permission from the authors to upload it somewhere though.

http://www.lead-pursuit.com/downloads.htm might be a good start

Hmmm... maybe you can give me a list of their names so I can search for them?

All that's in the LP website is the operator's checklist and Hawk's mission campaign planner. Those are the first I've got!

Last night I ordered Prima's Falcon 4.0 Strategy Guide from Amazon...

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0761501088/ref=olp_product_details/104-2213984-1289566?ie=UTF8

There was an offer for the book NEW at only $19.95 + ~$3.00 shipping. Today the offer has disappeared, now with the following prices...

USED...from $85.00, NEW...from $219.96.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/0761501088/ref=dp_olp_2/104-2213984-1289566?ie=UTF8

The offer seemed too good to be true; however, Amazon hasn't let me down yet with the many flight sim related purchases I've made recently.

We'll see...

I just checked that out. Yikes! How can someone assign a value of $85 to $219 to a second-hand sim strategy guide? How do these dealers assess supply and demand?

Tell you what, I'll pay you back your $19.95 + ~$3.00 shipping for a B & W photcopy of the book when you receive it.

I'm going to be really surprised if I get a book. I'll let you all know if one arrives.

The Prima stratgy guide is a good read, with some cool RL stories from Pete Bonanni (if you don't know who he is, please depart here immediately and return only when you do know).

Some good GENERAL guidelines and tactics.

Not worth the inflated prices though by any means.

Hammer is Mower. Mower is Hammer. Deal with it. ...if you can.

Yeah, I know who he is Mower. \:\) The RL stories is the main reason I ordered the book. I also have Vipers in the Storm on the way.

I've received no confirmation from Amazon besides the immediate auto-response so I'm doubting this order will go through, but we'll see. I won't pay those outrageous prices though.
