On one portion of the CNN vid that actually shows impact, you can only see the top of the display; nothing about mode nor the flashing L. On the other you see AREA and steady L.
I think that part is just looking at the screen and assessing damage. No bombs dropping at that time.
Interestingly, CNN earlier had been talking and showing JDAMS and using laser in the same sentence.
