I almost wish I could go back 15 years and play F-19 all over again for hours on end and still be impressed with the graphics. The Jedi Master

I got my first PC in 1992.. my first ones were X-wing, Rebel Assault, Falcon 3.0, and US Navy Fighters. And I'm still playing X-Wing! Blew up the Death Star last night, today it's on to Imperial Pursuit. (Playing the Win95 versions.. but I still have the old floppy disks lying around somewhere).

Hmmm, first flight sim that got me into flight sims? Would need to be Cosmi's 'Super Huey'. After that, Flight Sim 2, Jet Fighter 3 (I think that one anyways), and the stand-alone version of Falcon 3.0's MiG-29 addon, then later the CD release Falcon Gold (Falcon 3 + Hornet + MiG-29 + some campaign expasion), Jane's ATF and Longbow, and some version of Flanker.

I think you mean JF1 or JF2. JF3 was much later, well after the F3 series was done and we were waiting on F4 (for the next four YEARS...). The Jedi Master

For me it was F-15 Strike Eagle on a ZX Spectrum. Originally posted by Colonel Kern: Ditto. Eagle Dynamics could learn A LOT about immersive sims from Microprose. I'm so frustrated with LOMAC I could scream. I know exactly what you feel and I agree with you at 100%!

spitfire 40 on the commodore 64.
What WW2 Fighter pilots say about Angels and Airspeed:
"Nice job of getting down to the basics - love your choice of a cover!" Col. Clarence 'Bud' Anderson
"I have enjoyed reading angels and airspeed, it should prove good reading for all interested in combat tactics and their application related to the fluid air environment and state of technology in WWII years. All the best as you make it available." - Col. Charles McGee - Tuskegee Airman

This was THE sim ! Yes, this was the game too for me. Then it was Gunship 2000. Then, I believe, I got F-15 Strike Eagle III and then I got MS Flight Sim. That looks like a PC version. It looked better on the Amiga 500. Sounded better too, cause the Amiga had a stereo sound chip onboard and stereo speakers built into the monitor.

Elite the space combat game on the Amstrad. space counts as fighting. certainly dogfighting :)Id played some harrier sim back when Amstrad were making tape fed michines and floppy had just come out. but the first game that I remember as a real sim was Total Air War which hooked me. then Janes WW2 fighters came out. Then came Janes FA18 and then my lasting love F4.

Awww, that's not Egypt, its the way they did mountains back then! I kid you not... I guess the absolutely first slight sim I played was something called Strike Force Harrier, on the C-64. I don't count Blue Max, which i also played, as flight sim, though it was mighty cool, heh. Favourites on the C-64 are probably Their Finest Hour, F-19 Stealth Fighter and Gunship. Went on to the Amiga and F/A-18 Interceptor, F-16 Combat Pilot (great sim) and others.
