CH Products question

I currently use the Saitek X45 joystick and throttle but I'm not happy with the ability of the joystick to make "fine" adjustments - the movement is far too jerky. So I was thinking about moving to the CH Products Fighterstick since I've read so many great things about it. But rather than invest the money to get both the joystick and the throttle at the same time, I would like to start with the joystick, but keep using my Saitek throttle, and then later on upgrade the throttle as well. Is it possible to use the Fighterstick and Saitek throttle at the same time? Another problem I have is that I can't find the CH Products stuff in any store around here - just so I can get my hands on them and see how they feel. I've tried every store I can think of the northern Dallas suburbs where I live (Fry's, CompUSA, Best Buy, etc), but all everybody carries is cheaper stuff. I feel a little nervous investing this much for something I can't get my hands on first. Anybody know of any other stores where I might have better luck? Thanks

If you have enough USB ports, and the simulator you are flying supports multiple controllers, you can use the CH stick with your X45 throttle. I did this for a while until I got a full CH HOTAS. Perhaps someone here on this forum, or maybe at the CH forums, lives in your area and would allow you to test fly their CH stick. It has a light touch but is scalpel accurate. You get what you pay for.

That said shipping is not cheap, it`s heavy stuff.
Be aware that some of us couldn`t get the software to work in XP with Service Pack 2.
Probably Hardware specific issue since most folks run it fine in that OS. That's why there's always Provantage And for those having trouble with WinXPSP2 answers may be found here . As to your question, as Joe and Holiday Hi Simbo! Vacation? What's that?

Thanks a lot for the replies!
The reason for my second paragraph was not really asking *where* I could buy them. I was just looking for some way to check them out physically before I do buy them mail-order(probably from Provantage - seems to be best price). I just wanted to feel them with my own two hands to confirm that they behave the way I want them too, especially for small adjustments. Unfortunately, I don't know anybody who has them.

Well, I've been to the Fry's in Plano more than once. They definitely have the best selection of controllers there, but no CH Products at all.

Rssmps, sorry...not likely to happen. Gameport devices no longer being supported. I'm afraid you'll have to invest in USB. Unfortunately, evolution can be expensive. I still have boxes full of BETA tapes  Brucebr -- I guess popping in might prove to be a bit difficult then. If you'd like to send me an email, I can let you know when we have a shipment going to Plano. I'll send a note to the buyer too, asking when they will reorder.
