Yes. Losing control response. The program thinking shift, control, or alt is being pushed, etc. Often when it first starts up it treats PNVS as Pause. And other times on startup it won't even turn off the rotor brake, or seems like it's being hit repeatedly. Hitting Alt and using the stick to pan the FLIR often wouldn't turn off afterwards. MP this weekend had a lot of that. Every once in a while I wouldn't be able to change master modes or I'd lose every control axis except rudder. I'd have to go through and push every alt/shift/ctrl key once to fix it, yet having just the X-52 or the keyboard as the only devices connected doesn't help, either. I also noticed that having the slider with "V" for comms always activated (slid up) in single player mode reduced it, almost like it needed a constant key input to clear a cache, or something. I've seen quite a number of people experience this, with multiple hellfires shooting off at once when they only wanted one.
When I try installing the 2209 patch it tells me the files aren't the same so it says it has done nothing. But if I don't attempt it I can't get the DDU patch to install next. I remember one of these fixing a problem with Autopilot turning off on its own or repeatedly being pressed. I'm wondering if Anthology has only part of the 2209 patch changes and can't accept all of them from the patch since it thinks it doesn't need it. Yet the patch does something, because it's required to use the DDU patch.

Forgive this rookie question...
but is LB Anthology = Longbow2 plus?
Is it the same thing I have as LongBow2?
Guess Im at a loss as to why LBA would be any different than LB2 (plus patches?)

I *think* Anthology is both original Longbow, its Korea expansion, and Longbow 2.
It makes sense that a repackage would be patched up to the final ersion, but I'm only speculating.

Check The Buy/Sell/Trade section of the boards ... I'm selling a Longbow Anthology 4-Disk set ... if anyone is interested.

As others have mentioned, LBA is the collection of the entire Longbow series in a 4 CD set. The spiral bound manual that comes with it is confusing to read because it covers the different versions of Longbow in the same sections and chapters. The LB2 manual is much clearer. I don't think there's any difference between LBA and LB2. Reticuli, I flew a couple of missions last night for about an hour and everything seemed to be fine. I'll keep checking when I have more time. What I'll do is toggle through the master modes more frequently to see if it jams, use the shift, alt, and ctrl key combinations more often, and I'll also spend more time in the gunners position manually designating targets and see if anything happens. My laptop's running XP home with a gig of ram, some kind of ATI graphics chip, and an Athlon64 3500+. I bought a usb keyboard with a built in hub for my Logitech joystick (the one with the twist grip). BTW, I'm using the no-CD solution that +G has on his site. I don't know if that makes a difference?

Reticuli, I'm using the 9 step no-cd instructions on this page - http://www.speichts.com/games/lb2/fine_tuning.html I've spent a little over 2hrs with LB2 tonight and I haven't encountered any problems that you've been experiencing. I'm not sure what else I can check for you? Maybe there are certain actions or key commands that I can try out and report back on? Did you try re-installing LB2? Let me know what else to try.

I, too, have always had the multi-keypress issue ... on TWO dissimilarly configured PCs running original LB2. Dissimilar meaning different MBs, HDs, RAM type, keyboard, mouse, and video card. But, same OS (XP Pro), same controller ( Saitek x36usb). Controller drivers are different, though. Too many variables .... Solution? Build and run on old PII machines with Windoze ME and dual V2 cards.
