If you want to see LB2 be put back onto Hyperlobby for launching and chat, consider going to the HL forum and wiegh in as I started a thread there. Hopefully if we show enough support it will get done and any myths about LB2 not working well over internet will be busted.

Being that its hard to all of us on the same page at the same time, HL may prove helpful in getting us online together more frequently.

Great flying with you and Klink Saturday, AV8R, and everyone else who showed up.

A while back I think you mentioned that you were one of the originators of Hyperlobby. Didn't you mention checking into why LB2 isn't on HL any more? I thought you heard back that the reason it was removed after a while was that it had problems working properly from the start, and they didn't think it would be worth implementing again. Do you think those problems have been or could be resolved?

It should be interesting to see what reply you get from current HL folk.

Jiri and I worked on HL (before it was HLpro) for Janes WWII fighters, and I helped him on the anticheat and debugging the launcher. I believe my callsign is still in the scrolling credits on the site and HLPro itself. Unfortunately, we kinda lost touch after the IL2 craze replaced JWW2F.

However,
I dont think HLpro launched LB2 well or at all, too long ago to remember exactly. However I do remember folks congregating there and flying together from HLpro.

Even if it cant be made to launch again, at least its a common place for people to go to, being that there are so many chat, irc, paging proggies out there and no one that is for LB2 to unify around.

LB2 was really painfull command line parameters. I have implemented it in to HL but lots of peoples reported that it not working. The setup of LB2 online session was really stupid. The server need to know before IP of all clients that will be connected, and was imposible to setup a session for peers behind NAT routers ... Iam sorry, this game was great, but not all is posible, especialy for game that is dead some years.

Now is the LB2 room replaced by the Free chat room, and i will not return it anymore.
