Id like to make the motion and communication that we just state that a default time and place to gather and fly LB2 online.
This is just a starting point for folks to work off of, to have some reference point to look for others.
Its no gaurantee that folks will be there every week, but it is the one time slot that seems to have been the most common denominator between the USA and EUROPE.
So here we go:

TIMING:
- will be in a 3 hour range on Saturdays

Start time =
PST: 11:00 (11:00 AM PST USA)
EST: 14:00 (2:00 PM PST USA)
GMT: 19:00 (7:00 P.M.)
GMT+2: 21:00 (9:00 PM in Greece)

End time =
PST: 14:00 (2:00 PM PST USA)
EST: 17:00 (5:00 PM PST USA)
GMT: 22:00 (10:00 P.M.)
GMT+2: 24:00 (mid night in Greece)

Link to GMT converter tool

PLACE:
- Magnums TeamSpeak2 voice comms server, LB2 channel
Server IP Address: 69.12.31.35:8908
link to d/l TS2 client

Im sure mileage will vary for many folks for various reasons and locations. Feel free to post your unique timing needs below, but know that the above timing is what has worked for about 10 of us old die hards from both sides of the Great Pond. If you can adjust to this slot, you will likely catch the most games online.

Cheers

Both time slots seem like a good deal to me.

I'd prefer something along the lines of a IRC channel or some text-based chat room to get into, but I'll just follow Shadow around and find out whats up from him. ;\)

I could setup an IRC chat host for this I guess.
What did you invision the chat room being for?

Even if you don't have a microphone you can use the TeamSpeak client.

Does TS have a text readout? Last time I checked it didn't, so that leaves me in the dust. I can't understand speech via voice proggy.

I had set up text chat for LB2 on my 1st Cav web site long ago. The text chat link is: (port 7000)

1st Cav LB2 text chat room

That being said, once you register at the Mags TS2 site, you can get text chat too. But why bother if you have voice comms right there?

You will want and need voice chat in game.

Because hearing voice with no reference point for me is like straining water from a rock. \:\)

Walleye,

Stop talking like Yoda! ;\) )))
Hearing voice with no ref pt?

Proper military voice comms use the FROM/TO format. We emulate that the best we can. After a while, you learn the voices behind the names also. This works fine in-game.

Out of game, TS2 has a light that you can see when someone is talking.

that help?

Does TeamSpeak Overlay work with LB2? This way people can use it like we do in Falcon4. TSOverlay displays whom is talking on the corner of your display.

Im sure it will, and its probably what Walleye would like to see in a voice comms mode. Not a bad suggestion H4RM.

I dont use it much because Ive never really had the need. But here it is:

What I would actually like, is that we refer to each other the proper way, ie Flight Designation name and number. Remember how the other (NPC) boys and girls call at us in-game? "Echo 83 (Flight E83), this is Mike 66 (Flight M66), we have a visual on a SAM site in your aera."

How about that?

You guys are not getting it. Franze has a hearing-problem. He is allmost deaf (if it had'nt been for his hearing-aids). So a graphical overlay in-game would'nt help.

So a graphical overly would help, I think you meant to say. Walleye didnt explain it apart from his Yoda allusion. ;\)

The other part of using Overlay is that all players have to have it running. But yes it works in LB2. Needs some tweaking though, else the fonts are so tiny on a 1600res LCD with FSAA that they become hard to read.

Pretty much...it is always kind of iffy, but generally there are some folks around that time.

Magnum's server is going down at the end of June...see the appropriate threads for alternate servers..
