It looks like I've finally gotten most of my 98SE partition problems fixed. The net connection is up, the video and sound issues are mostly fixed, the repetitive keypress problem from XP is gone, and every other sim is working perfectly. In LB2 and using a wrapper for 3DFX, it looks great but CTD's whenever I die and attempt to refly a mission. With D3D it doesn't happen, but this issue is not that big of a concern for me. The real primary thing is the X/Y axis on my X52 works as a mouse. The throttle works. The rudder twist works. All the buttons work. The stick and MS mice both work and there are no conflicts. It's just that both LB1 and LB2 aren't recognizing the X-Y axis' as being the joystick. Anybody got any suggestions? For the time being I can fly as a gunner on the 98SE partition, but that's it. I origionally had given up on the 98 attempt at getting LBA to work and was focusing on XP, but the CTD's and repeat keypress problems persisted and just made it too much of a hassle. Just one more major hurdle to overcome, it looks like.

I assume the X52, like the Cougar, have a program that sets the joystick to one of two states (USB and keyboard-emulation). If its in keyboard-emulation, has the joystick axes been programmed to do or be something else?
Tried the same profile in another game and experience the same?
Sorry, I can't be anymore specific because I dont know the programmable abilities of the Saitek stick.

It doesn't happen in any other title or even in LB2 in XP. Just on LB2 in 98SE. I don't know of anything in the Saitek that would automatically set the axis to be keyboard. With the profile it does it; without a profile it does it. Seems fine in the control panel. Obviously not a problem with the profile. I just tried uninstalling and reinstalling LBA last night even without the 2.09F and DDU patches and used a wrapper: same thing. Happened with D3D as well. I have no clue what's going on. In XP the sim is too unstable and glitchy overall to use anymore. 98SE is so damn close to working with this, except for this single issue.

There are no other drivers. Saitek doesn't have a copy of the game to figure out what's going on. Should I buy them a copy, or what?
