Maybe im the only guy to just learn this, but...
F4 - gives you the 3D cockpit, instead of the default 2D cockpit. We all knew that...
F4 2x (two times) - gives you a padlock on other objects/targets. This is on the keyboard map card. Ok maybe this isnt so new, but...
SHIFT-F4 - gives you padlock on your wingman. This is AWESOME for flying as wingman or leader. No more scrolling around to keep a fix on him. I stumbled on to this, as it is not on the front side of the keyboard map card. It is in the VIEWs key command list on the back side of the keyboard map card.
Hope this helps some of you as it did me.

Hope this helps some of you as it did me. Heh! I'm sure I mentioned this to you on one of our flights. I always use it to keep track of the Wingman. Oh well. In Single Player, if you take the Door Gunner position in the BH, I think the F4 twice will autotrack the guns on the currently selected target. I couldn't get it to work when I was door gunner in Multi. Recluse P.S. Ok, here are some other things I thought 'everybody knew', that might be novel. - if you target your wingman or other friendly chopper and call in an Air Strike, the friendly F-16 will circle around the friendly like a guardian angel. Nice to have around when the choppers and MiGs arrive. Careful, though, if you lead the poor guy into a SAM infested area, he will likely get shot down. Its a good tactic to cover egress.
- Artillery is pretty poor. Generally an artillery strike will only hit the single target you call in the tubes on, even if there is a pretty dense cluster of units. Still, its a good way of eliminating pesky SAM sites when you are low on munitions
- We've covered Shift-~ for getting ABCCC information datalinked to your TSD, but it bears repeating.
- When engaging enemy choppers, the 'Stinger Lob' is often a useful tactic. Pitch up just before releasing the Stinger, lobbing it on a more parabolic course. Odds are good it will score a catastrophic kill down through the enemy's rotor disc, and it seems less likely decoyed by flares.
- In the in-flight map (ALT-N) the flight lead (in multi-player) for each FARP can move waypoints around, add new ones etc.. Helpful for guiding the flight to targets of opportunity or setting the path to assist another flight. Of course, this works in Single Player too.
- The NR Longbow can employ Radar Hellfires in LOAL mode with the FCR mode selected despite the INOP display on the MFD.
- When flying the Blackhawk, the doorguns will automatically track the selected target (assuming it is in constraints) even if you don't leave the pilot's seat. The range of azimuth and elevation is small, but if you get broadside to a target, esp. a Chopper that is locked, blast away and you may get a hit.
- The skill of your wingmen is greater with the increasing number in ( ) following the AI name. THis number rises as they get more skillful...though they often die before this happens. Using the Pilot Editor, you can bump up your AI team mate skill and give them and yourself a better chance of success.
- Beware hunting expeditions on CAS missions. After you receive Mission Success, the friendly units you escorted to the Phase Line may STILL come under attack by enemy choppers or Frogfoots later on while you are gadding about raising your score. Mission Success will revert to MISSION FAILURE if they get nailed. For Campaign success, it is best to forego the Hunt and RTB when mission success occurs, or you may find yourself pushed back at mission's end.
- for NOE flying, in the 2D cockpit, when in the TRANS Master Mode, as long as you keep the FPM above the terrain, you will not crash.
- Holding down the ALT key (or whatever you choose to remap it to) will allow you to pan your viewpoint with the stick, disconnecting it from the flight controls. Be sure to release it if you need a quick control input! Can be dangerous in connection with the above, as it puts you into the 3D pit.

I'll add one more thing: When calling in friendly air support (F-16) against enemy choppers, be aware that I've seen at least 2 occasions where the F-16 shot down my own wingman. I've never been hit by the F-16 personally, but I think it's a definate possibility. Try to call the F-16 against enemy units when they're at long range, because if you get mixed in close, the F-16's Sidewinders don't care if they hit an enemy target or a friendly (pretty realistic, actually). It wasn't amusing at the time.

Not at all! Good to have the info out there.. What I didn't mention, is most of the time when I am enjoying the Padlock View of my Wingman I end up running my chopper into the cumulo-granite So I use it sparingly

I was pleased to find out that padlocking works from the CPG seat as well. The more I use the 3D cockpit, the more I like it. Theres more FOV in it. Plus if you have a TrackIR it you can target and pan with your head like the IHADSS was meant to. One of the wonders of getting older, things keep seeming to be new all over again.
