What about working with the AI?

How obedient will the AI be?
Will they know what we want? Can we tell them?

What sort of orders can we give to friendly AI?
To whom can we talk to?
Wingmen, own flight, maybe a package of several flights?
Can we only talk down the hierarchy or also give advise upwards?

Can we talk to a GCI controller on missions?
How about a FAC for CAS missions?
Or contact a recon plane when on an antiship mission?

What services will ATC provide?
Vectors to tankers, airfields?
Help on approach, maybe an LSO?
Will the tower help with taxiing and takeoff?

Hehe. I'm not sure Jet Thunder even has any AI right now. \:\)

our little or large, 3d ships follow waypoints. and the aircraft can chase other aicraft.

we have to expand the AI greatly. mostlikely - we will leave the AI open for the community to improve on our efforts.

we're all aware of the famous reaper bot in quake. perhaps somebody will create a powerful airbot.

Having means for the community to improve the AI would be really, really great. Most sims, especially in recent times, have pretty much neglected the AI area compared to features like flight modelling, graphics or multiplayer. Which is a shame because good AI is fundamental to a realistic combat experience.

Now everyone knows that AI programming is a complex topic, but in many sims it already fails in basic decision making, which is not always that complicated: not entering combat when the enemy has three times more planes, not chasing an enemy over his frontline when low on fuel, abandoning a bomb run when enemy AAA has not been destroyed by SEAD aircraft... you just don't get this logic in most sims \:\(

If you find a way to provide event handlers for most situations and scripting possibilities to influence what the AI units should do under which conditions, that would be incredible! \:\)

yeah so basically, we'll do our best. trying to make it as expandable as possible to at least enable agents to communicate with one another.
