To update the people here on latest achievements, here's one of the WIP videos that Steve made: xvid codec required http://www.thunder-works.com/media/seaharrierinprogress.avi The above video was made a few days ago, so, we're more advanced right now, with working AOA slide, Flight Path Marker (we're still not sure if the SeaHarrier FRS.1 used this symbol so it may be removed accordingly) and with the HUD horizon pitch scale more in sync with visual horizon: ...and other instruments working, such as radio magnetic indicator and vertical speed; now Steve entered Engine Management coding so we'll have soon Fuel Consuption figures, fuel flow and RPM gauges working etc. We wish all a Happy New Year! I will try to persuade Steve to make a new up-to-date SeaHarrier cockpit video because I was unable here due to some minor technical difficulties

S! Deacon! Following IvanK's professional advice, I've improved some aspects of the HUD, like the AOA scale which should be represented as dots instead of dashes, starting with 0 degrees up to +20 degrees AOA with +10 degrees marked as a double-dot: Other details such as position of heading scale and alt readout are mode-dependant, so we'll improve these when more info on FRS.1 arrives. The horizon pitch scale lines should be less 'thick' but I'm still working on this problem.

Dante - Will the Navhars nav system be fully operational ?
Yep, I hope so - depends more on achieving info and specs of the actual system - based on Sharkey's book we have a small clue about how it operates. Btw, this is interesting: http://www.harrier.org.uk/history/Harrier_Testing.htm Perhaps more difficult to sort, the Sea Harrier navigation system (NAVHARS) had to be persuaded it was South of the Equator – no-one had reckoned to try this on trials, (or thought the expenses would wear it) and consequently the system toppled – if you see any cockpit H.U.D. film (Pilot Display Recorder, or P.D.R.) of the time, you’ll see the compass heading stays on zero.

Very nice!
It has a crisp, authentic "British" look to it that reminds me greatly of actual R.A.F. Harrier in-flight cockpit photos I have seen.

movie: http://www.thunder-works.com/movies/jumptest2.avi what I forgot to mention - the crapness of the terrain. this is because - we are at the moment just developing the cockpit and its good to make the system load quickly to accelerated tweaking. later on, we bring in the rest back into one whole.

I will buy it just to mess with the Harrier. I love the way it's cockpit looks. It's so authentically 1970ish. And "viffing" will rule.

That must mean Viffers are pilots who run out of fuel before target.
