New screenshots I've posted on the Biohaz JT forum by request, shows close-ups of Super Etendards and Sea Harrier:

Also the water textures in test for low settings (no shaders/bump enabled) - they'll improve a lot over the coming months as the ocean is very important for this campaign:

That's looking pretty good, Dante!

I have a dumb question for you -- what are the bright red markings atop the Harrier for?

Shadowcat, very good question \:\) I have yet to confirm but these red markings are supposed to be directly over the engine's area, so it may be a visual sign to the ground crew indicating hot surface - don't touch directly, or don't step over - a removable panel is within those markings, according to the Aviagraphica cut-drawn printing I have now.

Btw, I've started modelling some important interior pieces and parts in the Harrier 3D model, such as water cooling tank, engine, fuel tanks, hydraulics, fuel ducts, reaction ducts...to make a believable damage modelling.

Aha. Yes, that looks like a likely explanation. Thanks \:\)

Great! Two of the main things I hope to find in any flight sim are realistic flight modelling, and realistic damage modelling, with damage affecting the flight model in the appropriate manner. Trying to control a damaged aircraft can be pretty intense, especially if the effect of the damage can be different evey time.

Hopefully you'll be able to implement that side of it as well, but regardlesss it ought to look very good if damage exposes these internal component models \:\)

Don't worry, connor126 -- we have at least a year before release, and I would suspect that if it turns out to be necessary, you'll be able to upgrade to a better card for very little money by that stage.

oooh lookin good indeed!
well how about that, some argentinian outfit doing the malvinas theatre, what is this world coming to \:D
i love it. (flight) simulations are a very special and new way of telling history, by letting the player experience history 'as if they were there'
I hope the wounds of the malvinas campaign are cured enough for this project to be able to gestate fully...

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings,
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth

I am delighted to see this project in the works. I have been so desperate as to get The Falkland Islands add-on for MS Flight Simulator/CFS \:\( . I will follow your progress eagerly and patiently. [I am one of those people who would have waited another three months for a more complete version of Lock-On:Modern Air Combat.]

Now, when did you say that demo would be out? \:D

Very nice. This game seems to have as much soul as Strike Fighters. Btw, don't try to make to water too good ;\) . The last thing a good flight sim needs is animated water. Give it a nice color and some nice sunlight reflections and it will serve any flightsim. Take alook at LOMAC and see how someone shouldn't do it. The water there is a pure fps killer and other than eyecandy, you have no benefit from it, regarding the simulation of flight. The medium detail water of LOMAC is wat looks best anyway.

i disagree.... water effect in Lomac are very badly coded, other games have incredible water effect with vertex shaders without a big hit on the framerate (Black hawk down, Pirates of the caribean, morrowind, the "out of this world" virtual skipper 3...)

i think a true life-like water is important to the immersion, especially in a malvinas/falkland area. I'm in hurry to try the famous "test" demo of this future HIT, especially if i could fly very low and high speed over a very well done water effect with the help of vertex shaders !

Hey coming along nicely Dante. I've been remiss on the forum. I'll have to poke my head back in there.

Dante,

What are the chances of this sim having 6 degree of freedom for head movement? And is it possible in real time to obtain flight data and instrument data so a real home made cockpit could be produced?

BTW, great work on the model, and the water looks very good.

This looks extraordinary! If you need any more beta testers (murdock@nc.rr.com) I am very good at breaking things! (my systems are low end too which for testing is a good thing)
