You're welcome, Laketrout.

I'm on it now.

The thing is, our WAN is filled with web surfers that make MY SURFING a nightmare - this is JOB, BTW.

Right now, I'm still 40 items away from opening the Arrow Page. It's going slowly, damn these weekend surfers...

I'll surf in the comfort of the sweet home of mine.

Thanks for the warning, Lake.

I finally managed (last night) to surf your web page, Lake.

I showed my mrs. the Arrow once again. She sat by my side, silent for a moment and then she commented:"It looks similar to the Typhoon...only bigger and with sharper looks. It's big indeed, look at all those people there!"

Well, they're both delta winged aircrafts, for sure, but the Arrow is a lot bigger - all 25 meters of Arrow in comparison to 14 meters long of the Typhoon, and both have twin engines - very close together, integrated in the main body of the airframe.

Arrow12, Arrow7 pics are very impressive. I keep thinking how fantastic an airplane it would have been had it not been discontinued.

I got a laugh out of Difen-Devil. Lake, wasn't there a picture much more angelic than THAT one? Stupid old traitor, sorry for saying so.

I explored those links, the DND one and that from Canadian airforce. Quite thrilling for me to know "inside" details of the canadian air force. I have yet to go deeper and spend more time surfing, but great links. Did you have to seek their approval or authorization to do it, Lake? Or can anyone interested put their links in a webpage?

Me and my wife talked about all those people investing their hopes and heart into the Arrow, all those pilots (looks like the The Right Stuff picture) and the mechanics and designers and workers, all for nothing. It's good that someone is investing their time and effort NOW to bring the story up and rebuild the Arrow (albeit being just a model nowadays). This is sad, I can't imagine what it was like to see THAT string of events unfolding and their losing the Arrow.

On a happier note, many colleagues and professors at my University know that Canadian engineers and technicians went into the American Space Program - some of the people I know worked for NASA and the MIT for a couple of years or so, and it's common knowledge that Canadians left (and still do) their mark on the space program. Which is heaven to me.

Now, Lake, what about this news:
BAE SYSTEMS Aircraft Services Group is to acquire a flight simulator for the Avro RJX regional jet from NLX Corporation of Virginia, USA.
[...]
Announcing the purchase, David Hoy, BAE SYSTEMS Head of Training for regional aircraft customers said, "This is an extremely exciting time as we prepare for early deliveries of the new Avro RJX. We are busy developing new courseware and products for the Avro RJX in addition to supporting our in-service aircraft. The new simulator will join our centre at Woodford and become an integral part of the training we offer."

Lake, is Avro now engaged with BAe in producing regional jets? Or is it a part of BAe? What about military aircraft?

Great info and pics, Lake.

Please, keep it coming and keep working on your whole website. It has lots of meat for me to grind my teeth on.

Sir
Sent you A email.
Dief lol I've got a bugeyed pic. of him
As far as permission goes, anyone i've talked to that has Avro Arrow site, says, sure go ahead it's for the Arrow. As far as the DND goes just as long as it's not for commerical use links are allowed. What are they going to do send the Arrow after me. lol
BAE SYSTEMS as far as they go there British, they do have a office in Toronto.
BAE SYSTEMS designs and manufactures civil and military aircraft, surface ships, submarines, space systems, radar, avionics, communications, electronics, guided weapon systems and a range of other defense products.

http://www.baesystems.com
Bombardier, is the lead aircraft designer in Canada. It has produced the Dash 8 & 7, turbo prop aircraft. This company has also raised the eye of other nations. Seems an American company awhile back bought it just for the designs and info on planes they had built or are planning to build, once that was done they sold it again.
Do you see a trend here.

Received no email, Lake, sorry.

They bought - more like, they swallowed the company, got the plans and got rid of her? Just like that? Man, talk about lack of moral in this competitive age we live in. Schick! You sure they sold it again? Talk was they had plans for the bombardier aircraft, were selling them around the world, in particular the Dash 8. I think I might have seen one a couple of years or so ago, flying for one of our regional airlines. A sleek aerodynamics bird, I say.

I looked for the Dash 8 in airforce.dnd.ca/airforce/eng/equip_aircraft/ and there it was, the Dash 8. Serving the 7th wing in Winnipeg for Nav School.

Also the DeHavilland company was taken over by Being and some aircrafts produced up until then were discontinued. Then, it was sold (imagine that) to Bombardier.

I found out that some Dash 7s were completely overhauled, re-engined and converted to O-5A, EO-5B and RC-7B surveillance planes for the US Army. I DEFINITELY SEE A TREND HERE. Where there's a canadian built aircraft, there are always american companies (or the military) involved with it.

BAeSystems is connected to BAe, the british giant. They have many subsidiaries and small companies around the world, working for their aircrafts or simply being supported by BAe.
