Since I'm trying to use my new Ch USB setup with F4SP3, I figure this topic loosely belongs here.

My problem is that whenever I try to load an F4 map (combining all the controllers as a single one so F4 can recognize them) all the controllers disappear from the Windows gamecontroller applet and I have to reboot to get them back.

Of couse the Mapped mode is supposed to allow the use of all the USB controllers together in older games like F4. If they aren't combined then F4 only recognizes one at a time (ie. throttle but no stick or pedals) I can't seem to figure this one out. Why do the controllers disappear?

I'll do a search of the forums untill I hear back from one of you guys.

P.S. This is frustrating because I have the day off, the wife took the kids and I have some time to fly!!!

Thanks,

Sacat

First...what version of the CH mapping software are you using???

Second...check out this website -

http://home.fuse.net/mmz/index.htm

that is a website dedicated to the use of CH USB HOTAS and the making of maps for various flight sims.

Thanks Sundancer. I'm using 2.0.

And thanks for the link. I'll check it out.

By the way. Any ideas what's going on?

Checked out the site. Tried the F4 map and same problem. I download the map into the controllers and they disappear. What's going on?

Sacat:

You will have to clear out the 3 controls in the windows game controllers screen from the CH Control Manager. All three controllers will disappear this in normal but now you have to load your profile so here is what you have to do:

1. Start up the CH Control Manager and clear out the 3 controls from the Windows game control you will have to do this from the Ch Conrtol Manger. Then click on the folder Icon on the left site then selected the profile you want to load.

2. Now your profile is displayed in the control manager now you have to hit the download icon right about in the middle of the menu bar it looks like a Stick. Now you have loaded the profile in to windows game control.

3. Now check your windows game controls box and it will show under controls CH Control Manager Device 1 and under status is should say OK.

4. Fire up falcon and go to the setup tab and to the controls tab and in you’re game control it will say CH Products Device 1. Now your ready to fly. Enjoy

Thanks, Semipro. When I reinstalled that seemed to do the trick. Now I'm seeing exactly what you outlined above. Now I have to get the hang of programming ;\)

Weird, to me at least, that CH gear is so confusing to get working. My X36 quit working after an mobo/CPU upgrade, so I got the the Fighterstick/Pro Throttle combo to go with the Pro Pedals I already had. I too have limited time (maybe 1-6 hours per week) to fiddle around with all flightsims, and so am still trying to get this setup programmed, or even working consistently, for Il-2.

One thing I know-you can't just plug it in and fly. I was able to do that with the Saitek gear.

You can always go get my IL2FB map from the link in my sig. There is a guide there for CM 1.32 version as well.

I haven't had time to update the guide but i try to update the maps as much as i can.

I have a nice profile with a word.doc you can print out to see what each button dose. I can zip up both and send it to you by e-mail.
