I guess I'm getting tired of spending money and not using what I buy enough to really justify all that I spent. I'm sure many of you are going thru the same thing.

I sure would like to know what is in the works for FS2006 or whatever they are going to call it.

Has anyone seen any posts that give us some clues as to what will be included and when the release might be ?

MS has traditionally kept their mouths shut tight on new versions of FS before they are out, nothing is different this time.

Have you tried FSPassengers? It's a cool little addon that adds a lot to the sim.

Have you tried the LAGO In Flight refueling module that ships with their Tornado ?

Or the USS Enterprise from Alphasim that allows Cats and Traps with the Abacus Flight Deck III added on.

Those could keep you busy for weeks ;\)

Never really got burnt out on the sim itself. Though the more money i spend on payware the more i forget about the other payware i spent money on. With that said though, im still drooling on newer and newer payware, and FS2004 hasnt really gotten old, and I doubt a newer FS would fit my tastes.

Here's what I've added to enrich my FS2K4:

Ultimate Traffic (pay)
MyTraffic 2k4 (pay)
Chopper Havoc! (pay)
Whirlybirds (pay)
Fighter Pilot (pay)
Wings of Power (free)
FS Traffic (free)
Caravan (free)
Flying Club (free)
Concorde Professional (free)
Airbus 380 (pay)
FS Flight Environment (pay)
Ultimate Terrain (pay)
FS Global (pay)
FREE downloaded aircraft-too numerous to count

How could you get tired of it! All of the "select a flights" to choose from? Infinite "create a flight" possibilities? Come on.

Go out and get some stuff like FS Passengers, FS Flight Adventures, and Airliner Pilot. FS2K4 will be like a brand new sim. :-)

Take a break for a couple of weeks. You'll come back to FS2004 with a fresh outlook and renewed enthusiasm.

Buy a globe, spin it and stop it with your finger, then fly there from your home airport. Take something you can go sightseeing in and download freeware scenery that's along the way.

Or try the "travelling salesman" problem for real - fly the shortest route between all the US state capitals. (Alaska and Hawaii are optional!).
As Jeevz said, find some scenery for the route, or make diversions to local beauty spots.

This has always been a problem for me with FS2002. It just lacks "missions" and you need to come up with your own set of goals. Sometimes that can be difficult.

Here is how to make this entire sim brand new again:

1. Go out and buy the IR Tracker Pro (version 3 0r 4) with 6DOF Vector expansion (this tracks your head movement).
2. Buy the 3D glasses from edimensional

Then take a flight in true 3D with head tracking enabled...it's an outlay of more cash, but you will not believe the transformation. It's immersive!

Yes, what Rip said. I too have TrackIR 3 Pro to go with all those add-ons. Get Flight Environment. Change the clouds, the sky and all the water. Then go see them!

If you want goals, why the hell don't you buy FS2K4? It's cheap right now. Dirt cheap.

Maybe it's the Christmas Holidays. Too much going on.. Dan, I have only done multiplayer on a local network. I'll check with you later today. Gotta go to work at the CAF Arizona Wing today. Trying to get Painkiller to work on my machine. The patches are all with CRC errors and I can't get past a certain level because it crashes to desktop. Computers, what a pain....

Im in a cycle with 2004. I end up spending a few hours of free time planing out flight plans with all the AI aircraft and some non-AI birds and then putting a bunch at different airbases. I started with NAS Oceana (KNTU), then NAS Fallon (KNFL) and moved to Kadena AB (RODN) and NAF Iwo Jima (RJAW). Currently I've settled on MCAS Iwakuni. I have two skins each of VMFA(AW)-225 and VMFA-232 plus AI H53s and C130s. Add in F-15Cs and Japanese F1s,F15Js and some T2s and there is plenty going on. Problem is I end up starting from scratch within two weeks or so.

On my list for furture FS Sims:

-Military AI Traffic
-E-28 Gear and Fresnel Lense at Naval Stations
-Option for Initial/Overhead
-Option for AI formations
-Better execution of TNGs by AI aircraft
-ACM option for AI traffic to practice ACM.

You can get both military (airbase)A.I. traffic and Naval military traffic (aircraft carriers) with MyTraffic add-on.

I went chasing an F-16 while flying a German jet from WWII. Of course you'll need both MyTraffic and Wings of Power to do that.

And let's not forget the need for night vision systems for military types, something that even the civil world is waking up to.

try a cross the globe tour. I would start off from one airport and fly until I would get low on gas.

I only flew into Military airports(Active/ANG), so if I landed at Hill AFB, I would have to take off in a F-16, then you head out to Travis and take a C-17 or a KC-135.

Get's a litte difficult through Europe as I don't know all the military bases.

I got more burnt out doing the AI packages, should just get back into flying ;\)

Bill Freeborn`s excellent Ver. 3.0 PDF. of over 330 Military Bases only in 35 Countries is available at AVSim:

MILSUPP30_174719.Zip

Cross indexed by both location ID`s and Nations, and lists geographic locations, active runways as well as Navaids.

My vote for most useful Military AC FS 9 download of 2005.
