Could someone please briefly translate the largely unfamiliar German plane names shown in WoW into the more familiar names given to the key WW1 German aircraft as in RB etc.

Also how do you check fps in Wings of War

Many thanks

To check your FPS download a freeware utility called FRAPS, a search will locate it on the net, useful for all sims and possibly more accurate than inbuild frame counters. It can take short vidoes of games (payware version longer ones).

Re the planes. The Hawk is the Fokker DVII. The Dreidecker is of course the Fokker DrI triplane and the Eindecker the Fokker EI/EIII (1-gun) and EIV (2-gun) monoplane. The Whiff is the Seimens-Schuckert DIV (late-war, fast climbing interceptor). The Fisch is the Albatros DIII (late model with the rounded rudder and offset radiator of the DV model). The Walfisch is the Roland CII 2-seater (as per the Airfix kit). The Taube 2-seater looks like an Albatros CIII (despite being given the name of a type of very early war 2-seater monoplane). The Parasol is the Fokker DVIII. The Trout is the Pfalz DIII (as mostly flown by Bruno Stachel in the Blue Max). The Otter floatplane is the Hansa-Brandenberg W29 seaplane fighter.

Yes, Ivor - Thanks a lot for that info.
