WFP is an unoffical patch for Red Baron. I am the primary author, but I get alot (and I mean ALOT) of help from alot of other folks. It uses von Tom's Campaign Manager (CM) to swap planes in and out. The end result is that by reusing airplane slots over time we are able to plug 100 airplanes into WFP. There isn't much out there that made a contribution to the Western Front that we don't have in the game.
As an example, in 1915 and 1916 we have as flyables the Vickers Gunbus, Bristol D scout, FE.8, Nieuport 10, Morane L parasol, Fokker D.II and D.III, Fokker E.IV, Pfalz E.I and E.II, Albatros D.I, etc. This is in addition to the standard planes (N11, DH2, etc.). For variety in target practice we have planes like the LVG C.I and C.II, Farman F.40, Voisin L.III, Caudron G.IV, early model FE2b (tricycle gear and 120 HP engine).
We swap planes out when their service life came to an end and replace them with newer models. As a result, in late 1916 and 1917 you have the Roland D.II, DH5, English variants of the Nieuport, and the Hanriot HD.1 for the Belgians. In 1918 you have the Fokker D.VIII, SSW D.III and D.IV, Fokker D.VII and D.VIIf serving concurrently, Sopwith Dolphin, Sopwith Camel Clerget and Bentley flying concurrently, etc.
