All,

I actually have two of these controllers and have been using them together for several years now (one is throttle and one is prop pitch). I am also using CH Products Control Manager Version 3.00.

Recently, after my last windows install, one of my throttle controllers has started zoning out on me. It will suddenly quit functioning completely and the yellow light will illuminate (I always stay on the green light). My other throttle and my combatstick continue to function fine.

I would guess I have a USB port problem, or an internal problem in the controller. I will try another port and see if I can duplicate the problem. In the mean time I am hoping Bob Church or MichaelCHProd can shed some light?

Thanks in advance.

I have a CH HOTAS, Pro Pedals, Throttle and Fighter Stick. My Fighter Stick started in a similar way and it turned out to be the unit's USB cable itself. You can get replacement cables from CH but you'll have to solder.

Ah, thanks 13sq*Axe,

Yeah, I just tried it in a different USB port and got the same result.

Thanks Buff,

I did a search for a CH Products forum and came up with nothing. I probably have that link buried around here somewhere. \:\)

So far, I would guess it might be the cord. I gave it a little slack and it appears after minimal testing to have helped.

Although this is most likely a hardware problem, you should generally be running the latest version of Control Manager software. Currently this is version 4.2, although the version 4.1 download that is easily accesible on the CH website will do you just fine.

This is the first message board I have seen that has a lot of customer support from various places such as CH, Saitek, GoGamer, plus some of the software makers. I am extremely impressed all the way around.

thanks

Does the 'drop out' occur at random intervals or at a pretty steady interval? I just wonder if it may be your USB root hub power saving causing the problem. If its not receiving any data from one of the Pro Throttles (say for instance you don't change the prop pitch often) then it could be the problem, in which case take a look at this page at the CH Hangar FAQ.

Other than that it could be that you've pinched a cable if they get caught around the edge of your desk etc. Do they calibrate ok in Control Manager in Direct Mode?

Thanks for the help all!

Debby, very kind to post that information. Have not had the chance to do any testing lately. I suspect it is the cord, but if it gives any more trouble I will have to go into this further. \:\)

Revvin, everything calibrates fine. It is just the one throttle controller that drops out at random ... all of the sudden it is not working anymore ... and I move it alot.

Anyway, thanks again for the help. Will investigate further. \:\)
