Turn on the puter this evening and firefox, IE and MSN wont connect to the internet???

Turn off Nortons Internet Security and everything works as it should.

So I go in and try and reconfigure security and still no go. So I go back, remove firefox and co then add them back in and still no go!!!

Anyone got an ideas on whats going on here?

Yes.
Nortons is rubbish, I'm surprised people still use it. Use nearly anything else for better results.

Uninstall, put the discs in their box and burn it in effigy to whatever Internets god you hold dear...

I had something similar happen. When I first got my computer and got the internet going(I use aol), for the longest time I could not get on the internet unless I turned Norton off.(Not safe and I hope I won't pay for it later). Then one day I had to reformat my computer and somehow that next time around when I connected to the internet, Norton recognized it and said "made rules for the following program" or something to that affect. Since then I've been able to run internet and Norton thankfully.

Maybe this is related or maybe it was due to my lack of techyness. But if it wasn't me, you're not the only one who's suffered wierdness from this.

I gave up on Norton three years ago. It's crap. The only good product they make anymore is Ghost.

It's friggen crap. Uninstalling it is a PITA too.

Guys, I didnt ask if Nortons was the anti-christ!

Come on...someone out there must have an idea on how to fix this problem (apart from sending the disks back to Nortons).

happened to me when i still used norton
go to their site they have a prog that reverts settings to default...
