Think I'm going to have to replace my onboard sound as I think its the catalyst in most of my new systems problems. Can anyone recommend a good mid priced card?? I'll keep looking obviously but recommendations from here are usually pretty solid.
TIA

KONA and the Seven Stanes. No better combination

Audigy2 OEM is your best bet if you're a gamer. I'm using X-Fi but it costs more and I see some people have issues with it causing crackling sound. Creative is aware of this issue too so it is a real issue to consider if getting an X-Fi. Luckily, this issue doesn't show up on my PC.

X-Fi ExtremeMusic. That's probably a little steep for this budget, though, so I'd go with Audigy2.

The X-Fi ExtremeMusic is certainly above mid-level, but well worth it. Far better than any of its Creative Soundblaster predecessors, including the Audigy 2. Rock solid and great sound. If you get the X-Fi you won't need another one for a long time, so think big picture.
