Does anyone know how to get Windows Messenger voice working through a Dl-524 router.

I've tried the DMZ and that doesn't seem to work.

Thanks.

Its Windows Messenger. I'm not sure if it would be the same ports as MSN Messenger but I'll give it a try?

OH those ports for MSN Messenger probally wont work!

here is a snipit of how Windows Messenger works behind a NAT

"Microsoft has implemented the Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) protocols in Windows XP, but that will only work if the NAT device also implements the UPnP protocol. (Without this support, voice and video using Windows Messenger will not work reliably behind a NAT device)."

here is a link to what you need to know looks like it is supposed to open necessary ports Automatically, provided your router implements the UPnP Protocol:

Good Luck!!

Thanks Nephilim , but I guess the 524 isn't supported by UPnP.

Shouldn't it work with the DMZ enabled???
I tried and still no go?

Make sure the Dlink firewall is not blocking port 1863.

Cheers
