I have this Dell printer/scanner. All of my scans come out with a yellow tint, I'm not sure how to overcome it. I've fooled around with background settings and such, all to no avail, any ideas as to what the problem could be?

here is an example

Since you seem confident that it's not a settings error, as others have said try it on another machine before pronouncing sentence. If worse comes to worst take a look at the Agfa SnapScan line of scanners. Mine has run flawlessly on Mac & PC platforms for a number of years now. The Epson Perfection line is also very reliable.

btw: try the scanner's default settings as well, if not already done so.
