My son just built a new PC. He had to go with AMD for the GPU. He Payed $2000 Cnd for an RX 6900 XT. Which was only $100 above MSRP.
RTX 6090's are impossible to find, or ridiculously priced
The build cost him around $4000. The good part was I got his "old" one for $950. It's 11 months old. The specs are in my signature. The GPU is worth more than that.

My last 2 PC's were prebuilt. I couldn't be bothered. But my son caught the bug and jumped into building them last year. I encouraged it as it is good to know. It's a good hobby for him.

And no question, when RTX 6090's are available, he will want one.
