Cyberpunk 2077 Had 8 Million Pre-Orders, 59% of Which Were on PC (Biggest PC Launch Ever) 8,000,000 x $59.95 = ~ $480,000,000. 480 million dollars is not all profit -- but, it should go a long way towards paying development costs And, an hour ago, an article says: After eight years of development, Cyberpunk 2077 made a profit in one day CD Projekt says the game earned back its development and in-house marketing costs from preorders alone.
"The Management Board of CD PROJEKT S.A. with a registered office in Warsaw (hereinafter referred to as “the Company”) hereby announces that the estimated licensing royalties receivable by the Company in association with pre-order sales of Cyberpunk 2077 across all of its digital distribution channels have exceeded the sum of the following:
total development expenditures related to the game, and the game’s marketing and promotional costs borne by the Company – either already incurred or anticipated for the remainder of 2020."
