I guess it depends on how you are losing wings, but the visual clue will be you have for example a wing tip missing wink .. then it's a good possibility if you fly on it will rip the rest off. If you overspeed there will now be prop whine, your wires start to "sing" and the aircraft will vibrate as you increase speed. If you are hearing and seeing all that you have some clues. Also over stress the creaking sound is there for a reason, too much and it will rip something off. Ease off in the turn or pull up if you hear creaking.
(There are also less wings ripping off in 1 go too).
