Spitfire duoBob Stanford Tuck's Spitfire, 92 Squadron, May-June 1940, with an aircraft of 74 Squadron in the background. No.92 changed its ID letters to QJ sometime later in 1940 when it was realised 301 Squadron was also using GR; which didn't solve the problem because it was then realised that QJ was also being used by 616 Squadron, who had to change to YQ! The black ('Night')/white undersurfaces were ordered changed to Sky (aka duck egg blue, aka duck egg green) about June 1940, at first with no underwing roundels.
