I had the amazing and extremely satisfying honor of seeing the D.II close-up and personal at the Vintiage Aviator Hangar. It was by far the most beautiful, well-built machine I have ever come across in all my years of drooling over planes, cars and motorcycles. The quality of workmanship, and attention to detail was beyond anything I've seen in an automobile, and certainly in a hand-made flying machine.

If I ever get the chance to go back, which being in New Zealand, I highly doubt, I hope to schedule it around the massive airshows they do. Unfortunately, many of the planes were all over the world at differ air and static shows, so I didn't see the Fokkers, or D.Va's. But at least I saw the D.II.
