GlobalFoundries Sues TSMC & 19 Others For Alleged Patent Infringement

GlobalFoundries was AMD’s attempt at in-house chip fabrication, but unfortunate timing for the project didn’t let it reach full potential.

GlobalFoundries has decided to sue TSMC, Apple, Qualcomm, Broadcom, nVidia and other companies for violating its patents.

Total number of defendants in the case is 20


Years may pass before a settlement is reached. The "unfortunate timing" noted above was partly due to Intel's actions (which resulted in an approximately $1.5 billion judgement against Intel).
