You're right that it's not true VR in WOFF, but it's also not like staring at a flat monitor.. I am free to turn my head in any direction and still be in the game. It's definitely not like IL2 or Flying Circus where everything is in 3D.

I had to reduce the graphic settings and occasionally had trouble with WOFF crashing, so it's not the perfect solution. I wouldn't do a campaign in WOFF using VR, but it's good for a mission once in a while. To it's credit and for a brief moment, WOFF was the only WW1 flight game which tricked my mind and transported me back in time. You get to see the gritty atmosphere of WW1 aerial combat up close.
