AMD Takes Meaningful CPU Market Share From Intel For The First Time In 3 Years
AMD has reportedly gained 2.2% CPU market share in the first quarter of 2017. This makes it the very first time the Sunnyvale, California based chip maker has made any meaningful share gains against its much larger rival Intel since Q1 2014...
Does not look like a whole lot -- but, its a 10 percent gain relative to what AMD had before Ryzen. A 10 percent gain in business is huge.
Notice: Things were closer in 2005-2006. Back in the 90s AMD started WAY behind. Then, they caught up. If AMD stays on the current path and Intel does not "cheat" again, we might be back to near equality in a short number of years.
