Apparently from Iranian reports it is a film prop for a film dealing with the Iran Air Flight 655 shootdown incident in the 1980s.
If they say so... but wasn't that disaster involving an Aegis cruiser who made mistakes and assumptions, without considering the limitations of their equipment...with carriers not playing any part whatsoever?
I mean, carriers were in the region, but AFAIK not a factor in this incident?
Seems like a very expensive set for a ship not involved...just sayin. I think despite their claims they must have made it for some other reason.
