It does though. In passé simple : "Il viola toutes les règles en vigueur" : He broke all applicable laws.
But don't worry, English speakers trying to use French words get it wrong 90% of the time anyway
"Without further a do", "without further ado" and such should be "without further
adieu" (might be plural even, "
adieux" as in "without any more unnecessary goodbyes", but then again that expression doesn't exist in French, so I guess mis-use is excusable in that case.
