Switching transmitter off too often, with a working SNR would burn off the High Voltage contacts.
Hell of a job to replace those.
Of course, during wartime, its ok.
I've been told that when the power is directed to EKV for long period of time, the EKV starts heating up and makes the position vulnerable in IR spectrum...
