It's as if I said I needed help with my moguls skiing and the advice came back 'Try backgammon.. - it's great!!!' .

I guess they are all just games, and that they are all flight sims, but if I wasn't specifically interested in the WWII stuff then I wouldn't have been interested in CoD.

In fairness, though, I don't really care for WWI ((my least favorite flight sim period), I love WWII (my favorite flight sim period), but RoF has stolen my heart. Good FM, DM, and graphics . . . AND an offline career I feel that (a) immerses me in the period and (b) I can play at my own pace. For me RoF has transcended its historical era.

You should really try Just Cause 2 - it's an expansive sand-box game world with amazing graphics. On a decent PC the rendering detail is unsurpassed, and the freedom to wander around is great. Far more enjoyable than RoF for a lot of people.

Alternatively, rather than RoF you should take a look at Europa Universalis III - an amazing in-depth Continental-wide strategy masterpiece. It's 300 years of history, and great 3d map - with detailed modelling of economies is something really worth playing.

I also recommend Spider Solitaire on Windows 7. It features playing cards that RoF doesn't have.
