I bought "the Mammoth book of Fighter Pilots" some years ago, it's full of "high lights" from many good pilot biographies, Johannes Steinhoff, Von Richhofen, Douglas Bader, Ernst Udet and many more. Half the book or more, is about WW1 flying and fighting methods. A very good, affordable and highly recomended book. It also has some very funny chapters from WW1, where boys were sent up solo after just 2 or 3 hours of training, which ended not always as expected...
