Hello everyone!

IIRC, the airplane in question was a Morane-Saulnier "parasol wing" MS-315 or MS-317. At the time of the film making, a lot of them were in use in France for glider towing, so they were readily available, like the SV4 for that matter.
The MS-31x was designed just after the highly successful MS-230, which was designed in France as a trainer in 1930. It could be considered as a slightly lighter and less powerful version of the 230...Structurally, it was canvas-over-wood frame, except the wing spar and front fuselage which were metal. The airplane in the movie is painted to give a metallic feeling...
