You’ll have no trouble recognizing the SFP1 game settings format and customizing it to match your HOTAS settings in Strike Fighters and Wings Over Vietnam is a snap. The basic keystrokes on your keyboard (for those without a HOTAS) are unchanged from any of the previous releases, so getting accustomed to it is hassle-free.

Some might ask, “With the sheer volume of mods and add-ons available now, why buy it at all?” To that we merely say, it’s all about convenience. Our time is valuable, and with a lot of demands on it, not all fans have enough of it to jack around with a lot of ini files in order to get the previous releases to match what you can get in one retail release. A lot of us will gladly pay thirty-some-odd bucks for someone with more time and dedication than us to do it, and we guarantee it’ll end better than our efforts.
With today’s prices, $30 is cheap. For everything to come pre-packaged and ready to go in one simple install? Most of us had our credit cards braced for impact. Another good reason to buy it is to support the simulation genre. We’re acutely aware that sim titles are few and far between, so supporting those who make them is a good idea.
