What can I use as an alternative to Flickr for photo hosting?

Conditions being that its got to have albums/sets, and its gotta be cheap or free. And lots of space.

Have you tried http://photobucket.com/ ?

The only issue I've had with Photobucket is that it automatically reduces/compresses images if they go over a limited size. This isn't normally a problem if you're posting images to forum threads but it could be bad if you're exibiting your work and need critical detail.

been using it for a long time, each year they put extra space on it.. its currently $24 per year for 500MB of space and unlimited bandwidth..

i've got 102 galleries and 1867 images online and currently using 312MB

I know a lot of people who use Pbase, I like the way it looks.

On Pbase, can you make a set of photos private and then offer access to it through a password? Or does it require them to create accounts of their own?

Zenfolio is what I use. 40 bucks a year.
