Apparently a person has to activate the account before you can play the game. I've installed the game and registered twice -- and still haven't gotten an e-mail back from the Rise of Flight people. I register -- then get to the page where is says:

"Congratulations!"
"Please check your e-mail (which was specified during the registration). You will be receiving a confirmation letter from us shortly."

How long does it take for them to send the e-mail so I can confirm the registration and start flying?

For issues with the patcher I would suggest posting the issue on the RoF forums, or contacting taleks2 there directly. Perhaps not the Java itself, you need it from time to time - i'd just check if it tries to update itself and remove that option (e.g. from the registry 'Run' entry) or maybe from its applet in Control Panel. I can't get ANY skins to show up in the sim ...

I only play off-line right now and I have a skins folder in the C:/programfiles/riseofflight/data/graphics folder with the appropriate plane folders in there but when I start the skins never show up in play and later when I check the skins folder has disappeared and no longer in the graphics folder


I'm confused to say the least :/

Bloom really impacts the fps rate. I would recommend to use post saturation, as this setting drastically improves the way colors are displayed in the game. Without post saturation, it looks very cartoonish. I flew another mission last night, again without Fraps running, and had smooth frame rates and no stutters when the enemy flights appeared or in combat. There were only two enemy planes however so it wasn't the best test.

And sadly my ace N28 pilot died after colliding with an Albatross. I was gutted. Seems despite the problems this game HAS gotten its claws into me.

I did also re-enable reflections and shadows and that seemed to run ok as well.

Interestingly with FSAA enabled in the ATI control panel and not in game, RoF screenshots capture without FSAA which is bizarre. I'm gong to retry FSAA enabled in game rather than the ATI panel and see how it runs.

Hi guys. I just got this came a few days ago. Been tweaking to get a good FPS count, and I think I've done that.

Now I notice that my rudder has gone nuts out of nowhere.

I have a Saitek Cyborg Evo. The type with force feedback and a twist rudder. When I use the rudder, it seems to swing to a random degree no matter how much input I'm giving. Also, when i release the stick, it returns to a random position. Everything was fine for the past few days..this just comes out of nowhere.

i keep trying to host a mission--and everything goes fine--but nobody joins.I wonder if I.m setting something wrong in the set up screen.I end up playing against AI,hoping somebody wants to join--but nope.And can't we fly MP without any AI in the play?
